The Guideline of Protecting LED Display Against Dirt

Proper cleaning and maintenance of LED displays are essential for ensuring long-term stability and extending the lifespan. Here are some methods for reference.

Preventive Methods

1.Cleaning the LED display regularly to keep the surface clean.

2.Wiping the display with a clean soft cloth or soft brush.

3.Do not touch the display directly by hands to prevent the sweat and oil stains.

4.Using stainless steel or rust-resistant materials for the frame and supporting structures.

5.In dusty environments or during nearby construction, covering the display surface with plastic wrap or dust cloths.

6.Wearing gloves during installation; Avoiding the sweat dripping on the screen, and keep a towel handy for wiping when installing in heights.

7.Cleaning any dirt immediately to avoid buildup.

8.In the environments with grease or dust, opt for outdoor LED displays, as they are easier to clean compared to indoor products.

Cleaning Methods

Indoor LED Displays

1.Routine Cleaning

Wiping the display with a dry soft cloth or soft brush. Using an air gun to remove the dust gently. Afterward, power-on the display and aging for a while. And then, cleaning the remained dirt after the heated panel.

2.Stubborn Dirt

For few oil stain, we suggest to replace the LED lamps or mask. Avoiding using cleaning products or water on indoor displays, it may cause moisture damage or corrosion.

For large stains that cannot be removed, replace the entire panel.

Outdoor LED Displays

1.Dust Removal: Using air gun to remove the dirt and dust from the display mask.

2.Cleaning: Cleaning the front of the display with water, a soft brush or towel for a deep cleaning.

3.Drying: Wiping off the water with a dry towel, and air-dry the display. Power-on the display to speed up drying in case of the low temperature or limited space.

4.Stubborn Dirt: For few oil stain, we suggest to replace the LED lamps or mask. For large stains that cannot be removed, replace the entire panel.

Maintenance the Connectors

1.Fill the cleaning gun with DJW-618X cleaning liquid (mainly composed of dichloroethane, trichloroethane), and connect it to a 220V power supply.

2.Hold the cleaning gun at 45-degree angle about 10-15cm away from the dirt connectors. Press the trigger for short bursts to clean the dirty area.

3.Safety Precautions for Cleaning:

a.Do not point the high-pressure gun at people.When not in use, put it in a high place.

b.Wearing a mask and protective goggles to prevent the cleaning liquid from getting into eyes or mouth.

c.Keeping away from the flames and no smoking.

d.Ensuring good ventilation or work in an open area.

NOTES

Make sure the LED screen is completely powered off before cleaning.

Do not use organic solvents (such as alcohol or gasoline) to wipe the screen, as it could damage the surface coating.

Cleaning LED display regularly is a complex process. Therefore, it’s recommended to follow the principle of "Prevention > Cleaning/Repair" by effectively preventing dust, sweat, oil, and rust buildup. This will ensure the display effect and prolong its lifespan.
