Moisture-proof & Storage Tips of LED Display

With the rapid development of technology, LED display has been widely applied in various settings. As an electronic product, LED display is easily damaged in humid environment, influencing the display effect and lifespan. Therefore, in order to ensure ordinary operation and extend usage lifespan, it is vital to understand and master the moisture-proof and storage tips of the LED display.

(1) Cautions for transportation

1. Before the transportation, LED displays should be packed by anti-static packing materials (with desiccant to absorb moisture).

2. Choose appropriate transportation methods for reducing display display exposed in humid environment.

(2) Installation and usage

1. Before installation, you need to check whether the installing environment meets requirements of LED displays. Make sure the installation site has good drainage system to prevent the water accumulation.

2. If the displays are directly touched with the water during the events, you should wipe the water marks on the surface of cabinets and flight cabinets after the event. Only dry or air the cabinets and flight cabinets completely (power on drying or air drying), then can put them back to flight cabinets.

3. For fixed installations, regularly power on the display to prevent moisture for long-term inactive.

4. During use, you should regularly check the operation state of the display and address any potential moisture issues in time.

(3) Moisture-proof maintenance

Indoor display

1. By using dehumidifier or turning on air-condition to reduce humidity. Keeping the humidity meets the standard storage requirements (relative humidity ≤90%). After use, keep ventilated for cooling in time, which can evaporate moisture on the display quickly, reducing the relative humidity of indoor environment.

2. Regular power-on test standards: Power-on for at least two-hour test within 7 days (only for fixed installation product), first low brightness and low grayscale, adjust grayscale stepwise. The operating display will generate heat that can evaporate moisture, significantly reducing the risk of short circuits caused by moisture.

3. Equip with temperature and humidity monitors in the storage area to timely monitor the humidity.

Outdoor display

1. Why is it important the moisture-proof for outdoor display even though they're waterproof?

While the display is anti-splash and dust-proof in daily use, the cabinets have air holes and heat dissipation system through which humid air can enter. If the displays remain in humid for long time, it can affect the lifespan of internal components such as PCB, IC, power supply and integrate circuit. Therefore, you should clean the air channel and keep dry.

2.  Equip with temperature and humidity monitors in the storage area to timely monitor the humidity.

3. Don’t perform in storm, heavy rain and dust.

(4) Storage condition

1. LED display should be stored in dry and ventilated environment. Suggest choose the place with high altitude. Avoid direct sunlight, keep the indoor temperature between -30℃ to +50℃ with relative humidity ≤90%.

2. Humid and rainy weather might generate dew on the wall. Please keep the cabinet away from the wall. Don't place it upon the ground directly. Instead, use wooden frame or shelf for storage. Spare some space for air ventilation on the bottom.
